  • Budapest is an incredibly unique and special city with a rich history. Compared to many other majority European cities, Budapest is a bit smaller, more affordable, and offers a wide mix of cultural experiences, natural attractions, and some of Europe's best nightlife. I lived in Budapest for 6 months in 2022 and fell in love with this city.

Budapest is actually made up of two cities, Buda and Pest, which are split by the beautiful Danube River. On the Buda side, you will find historical landmarks such as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, historic castles, museums, and other attractions. While on the Pest side, you will find urban neighborhoods with great shopping, trendy restaurants and cafes, and Budapest's famous ruin bars. Hungary is known for its thermal baths and spas, which are a popular attraction for locals and tourists alike. Budapest alone has over 100 thermal springs, and many of the city's baths date back to the Ottoman Empire.

Hungary is a relatively affordable travel destination, with reasonable prices for accommodations, food, and attractions. This makes it a great option for budget-conscious travelers. You will find amazing restaurants for every cuisine but the Hungarian cuisine is rich and flavorful, with hearty dishes like goulash, paprikash, and chimney cake for dessert. Hungary is also known for its wine, particularly its sweet dessert wines and reds.
